Bronwyn strives to provide her clients with a pathway toward settlement but is equally passionate and strong in her advocacy skills in Court. Bronwyn appears regularly in the Federal Court and Family Court of Australia, and her previous business and commercial background helps her successfully negotiate complex asset pools.

Andrew has worked in family law since 2012, most recently at a large national commercial firm. He has intimate experience and knowledge in complex parenting matters (including relocation and recovery orders, and issues of family violence), complex/high value property settlement matters and child support issues, including child support departure orders, departure prohibition orders and objections to decisions of the child support agency.
Andrew often appears in the Family Court of Australia, Federal Circuit Court of Australia, and the Supreme Court of New South Wales. He works with pre-eminent Counsel and Senior Counsel of leading family law barristers’ chambers, and has strong relationships with valuers, accountants and psychologists to deal with all issues facing his clients.
Andrew holds a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Commerce (International Business) with Distinction from the University of Wollongong. He also completed a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Australian National University.

Timothy has worked exclusively in family law since the beginning of 2014. He is qualified with a Bachelor of Law and a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice. In 2018, Timothy completed a Master of Applied Law majoring in family law and is a Graduate Fellow of the College of Law.
Timothy represents clients across the full spectrum of family law matters including separation and divorce, parenting disputes and arrangements, financial settlements, financial agreements and de facto relationship breakdowns. His particular expertise lies in medium to high net worth financial cases and complex parenting matters with issues relating to relocation and risk.
Timothy is an experienced litigation lawyer and regularly appears as solicitor-advocate in the Federal Circuit Court of Australia and the Family Court of Australia. Tim has also at appeared at appellate level in the Full Court of the Family Court of Australia.
Timothy combines his technical and strategic experience with a compassionate and empathic approach. While an experienced litigator, Timothy is trained in methods of alternative dispute resolution and is committed to finding the most constructive pathway to resolve his clients disputes.
In 2017, Timothy was appointed to the Diversity and Inclusion Committee of the Law Society of New South Wales and in 2018, he was appointed to the Family Law Committee of the Law Society of New South Wales.

Lauren graduated from Western Sydney University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Law. Lauren also holds a Bachelor of Communication (Public Relations) from the University of Technology Sydney. Lauren has a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice and has been admitted as a solicitor in the NSW, as well as being admitted to the High Court roll of practitioners.
Lauren has worked an Associate to a Family Law Judge and General Federal Law Judge in the Federal Circuit Court. Prior to working as an Associate, Lauren gained experience as a client officer at the National Enquiry Centre, assisting family law litigants to navigate Court procedure. As a result of her previous experience, Lauren has developed an extensive knowledge of Court practice and procedure. This sound understanding of Court procedure informs Lauren’s practical approach to family law disputes.
Prior to joining Dorter Family Lawyers, Lauren worked as a solicitor in a national commercial law firm in Sydney. During this time Lauren worked in Government litigation and regularly appeared in the Federal Circuit Court. Lauren’s experience in a commercial firm has helped her to develop a strategic and pragmatic approach to family law matters.
In her leisure time, Lauren is an enthusiastic cook. Lauren also volunteers at Marrickville Legal Centre as an evening solicitor, providing advice in relation to parenting and property matters.

Having worked as the Associate and Deputy Associate to a Family Law Judge in the Federal Circuit Court for two years, Julie has invaluable insights into how to navigate the Court process. Her extensive knowledge of Court procedures and her sound understanding of judicial discretion come from her integral involvement in contested divorces, high conflict parenting, complex property and other jurisdictional matters. Clients benefit from Julie’s advice on what to expect from Court proceedings which puts them in a better position to make informed decisions about their family law disputes.
Julie graduated from the University of New South Wales in 2017 with a Bachelor of Law and Bachelor of Arts with distinction and a philosophy major.
In her leisure time Julie enjoys challenging hikes in the wilderness and photography.

Maeve has recently graduated with a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Counselling from the University of Notre Dame. Maeve’s communication skills and ability to multi task are her core strengths.
Her experience in counselling and working with children as a swimming teacher means that she is well placed to deal with the complexities involved in supporting clients with their family law matters.
